The Country Queen was joined by an impressive lineup of stars, including Pink, Sheryl Crow, Rob Halford, Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Brandi Carlile, and Simon Le Bon. The performance exuded a celebratory energy, reflecting a well-deserved victory lap for the country icon.

Parton kicked off the song with the opening hook before sharing the stage with Pink for a duet, where the pop star took on the first verse. The excitement was clear on Pink’s face as she stood alongside the legendary Dolly Parton. Annie Lennox of Eurythmics followed by singing the next verse, and the star-studded group joined together for the chorus. The momentum continued as more big names stepped forward, with Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran taking a verse, followed by Pat Benatar and metal legend Rob Halford.

The performance was a hit with both the live audience and viewers online, with 1.1 million people tuning in to watch the “Jolene” live cut on YouTube. Fans on the platform left enthusiastic comments like, “Dolly has music coursing through her soul. She can sing and harmonize perfectly with anyone she sings with. Pink had the honor of inducting Dolly Parton into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during the 37th annual ceremony on November 5, 2022, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. Other inductees that evening included Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, and Judas Priest. Backed by the Zac Brown Band, Parton performed two songs during the ceremony, with the other being the aptly titled “Rockin’ It.”

Upon learning of her impending induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Parton initially intended to decline, feeling unworthy of such an honor. However, after thoughtful consideration, she decided to accept the induction. In her acceptance speech, Parton confidently proclaimed, “I’m a rock star now!” She elaborated on her initial reluctance, stating, “I’m sure a lot of you knew that back when they said they were gonna put me in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I didn’t feel like I had done enough to deserve that. And I didn’t understand at the time that it’s about more than that. But I’m just so honored and so proud to be here tonight.”
